Lottery sellers demand launch of Online Lotto

Online Lotto
A group of lottery sellers filed a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) today, accusing Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij of neglecting the online lottery project.

The troubled vendors said Mr Korn failed in his duty to promptly launch the online lottery after the Government Lottery Office (GLO) gave it the green light and Deputy Finance Minister Pradit Phataraprasit also approved it.

They plan to submit a letter to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, demanding clear answers on how and when it will be implemented.

About 100 lottery vendors also gathered outside the Ministry of Finance to pressure officials to quickly launch the online lottery.

They threatened to gather at the Democrat party's head office on Wednesday if no answers were coming before the end of the day.

Earlier, Finance Minister Korn said the government has still to decide the appropriate time to launch the scheme.
